2024 has been a remarkable year for gorilla conservation in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with the rainforest welcoming four new infants to the following regions:

Rushaga

  • The Nshongi group has grown to 14 individuals after Munini gave birth.
  • Migogo of the Mucunguzi group gave birth bringing the total group size up to 15 individuals.
  • The birth of Mececuru’s infant has raised the Bikingi group’s count to 9.
  • The Tindatine group has grown to 8 individuals after Bashekura gave birth.

Buhoma

  • Kibande of the Rushegura group welcomed her baby, bringing the total group size up to 17 individuals.
